Track Biography:
The North Kilkenny Foxhounds date back to 1931 with the first running of their point-to-point in the late 1940's.
The current racecourse at Parksgrove in Ballyragget has been in use since 1989, returning from Gowran Park to the open country, as had been in its formative years.
The right-handed course is practically level throughout making it a great viewing track and a favoured track amongst handlers that always has a large number of entries.
Previous track winners to have won at Ballyragget include former Grade One winner Herecomesthetruth, a maiden winner here in 2007, and former Grade Two winning Luska Lad won the open 2015.

How To Get There
From Dublin
Take the N7 and M8 southbound to the N77 in Laois. Take exit 17 from M7 and continue on the N77 to Ballyragget where the track will be sign posted.
From Cork
Take the M8 northbound to the R693 in Kilkenny. Take exit 4 from the M8 and continue on R639.
By Air
Ballyragget point-to-point is located two hours from Dublin and Cork airport.

No, there is no official dress code, but we do advise that race goers dress weather appropriate and to prepare yourself for all types of Irish weather.
Yes, just make sure they are kept on a leash at all times.
It?s a great location for a picnic from the boot especially if the weather is good.
At our point-to-point, we are lucky to have wide open spaces for children to play in a safe environment.
Do you have an ATM on course?
We don?t have an ATM on site however you will find one at Supervalu in Ballyragget, which is located less than five minutes drive from the track.

Gary Murphy will bid to win this particular contest for a second consecutive year, as his SADHBS A SINGER is the only one of these with the benefit of previous experience, having finished second at Lisronagh last month. There is little previous evidence to go on for this, with newcomers dominating the entry. Of those that field newcomers, Pat Doyle is the only handler to have saddled four four-year-old maiden winners in 2026, ensuring his Iron Empress has to be respected. There are a trio of JP McManus-owned mares also entered, which includes Life Long Friend, a full-sister to Shuffle The Deck, who was a debut four-year-old maiden winner in Borris two years ago for the same connections, and the E84,000 store purchase No Airs Or Graces.

They include Doingtherightthing and Lord Fauntleroy, who both came with six-figure price tags. Denis Murphy was unlucky not to win two four-year-old races last weekend, and if that form continues, Ardamine Park would be worthy of consideration, whilst Pelelive is a half-brother of the listed winner Israel Champ, who had started his career by winning won of these.

TEXAN OUTLAW made an encouraging start to his career when finishing third at Bartlemy on debut. Whilst he has not been seen in action since May, he had a subsequent winner behind him on that occasion, and could set the standard. Spanish Dange brings more recent place form to the table, having finished second at Tallow last month, whilst Jet Away Island went close at Lisronagh on his penultimate start, and he would not be out of the equation if bouncing back here.

Seven of his eight runners in 2026 have finished in the placings, including EVERYDAY LIFE, who was only denied by a neck in Ballygogue House last month. This looks like an ideal opportunity for her to go one better. Dontcall was also in action at that Laois venue in an older mares maiden, whilst she could only finished fourth, she has gone close this season to leave her as a contender in a race like this, whilst the newcomer Lutece Borget is out of a sister to the 2014 Grand National winner Pineau De Re.

Runner-up in the Connacht National last summer, AMBITIOUS FELLOW could make a winning first appearance in the point-to-point fields here. Now a ten-year-old, he has also scooped a valuable pot at the Galway Festival, and is an interesting addition to this sphere. The progressive Beau Walking has been rising through the ranks this season, winning three times, including an open in Comea on his penultimate start, when he had the potentially reopposing mare over five lengths behind him, whilst Focus Point returns following a lengthy absence, but has gone well fresh in the past.

Twelve months ago, this race was won by the Cheltenham Champion Bumper contender Bass Hunter, and his former handler, Donnchadh Doyle, will bid to repeat the feat with QUARTUNIS. The grey is clearly highly-regarded, having been sent off as the favourite for each of his three starts to date, most recently finishing third at Punchestown last month. That form was advertised when the runner-up won a handicap hurdle at Naas last week, so he should reward his connections in this. Coolcullen is on something of a retrieval mission after disappointing in Bellharbour, which may leave the previously placed hurdle Jack D Large as the danger on his stable debut.
